PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE, CAMP GROUNDS

The Owners of a resident camping for boys and girls inquired with HOGAN ENGINEERING, P.C. to inspect the scouring of the base of bridge abutments of a 35 foot span pedestrian bridge.  The bridge is occasionally used for passage of vehicles towing boats.  After review of the abutments HOGAN ENGINEERING, P.C. recommended replacement of the structure.  As in most projects environmental issues and anticipated cost of replacement costs were becoming a roadblock for the Owner.  Alternatives were discussed and without disturbance to the trout stream below or the adjacent stream banks, precast abutments and planks were installed to replace the structure.
